Mark your calendars, Nintendo fans, as we might finally learn more about the Switch 2 this Thursday, January 16 if a notable leaker’s report is anything to go by.
In a brand new video posted on YouTube, famed leaker Nate the Hate made a ton of predictions about the upcoming console and what to expect.
What’s in Nate the Hate’s Nintendo 2025 Predictions Video?
The video stresses that a hardware reveal is set for January 16, with a look at the games arriving in February or March. This is alongside other rumours we’ve already heard. That includes a brand new 3D Mario launch title and a huge push for third party support.
Curiously, Nate the Hate suggests that the console is tipped for a May/June launch. That goes against previous rumours that we’d see it arrive as early as March.
What Are the Reporters Saying?
The Verge’s Tom Warren has since spoken up on X to corroborate the leaks:
VGC’s Andy Robinson has also chimed in, corroborating the view that January 16 is the reveal date and that the launch window is set for May/June.
Robinson also clarifies that VGC’s own sources have revealed a new Mario Kart and 3D Mario as launch titles.
What Third Party Support Can We Expect?
There has been plenty of speculation about this, though VGC and Nate the Hate focus on three key titles:
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Metal Gear Solid Delta
Previously, leakers suggested that Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring are also possible launch titles. However, it could feasibly include any games that have received cross gen support on Xbox One / PlayStation 4 and current gen.

Haven’t We Seen the Hardware Already?
If you visited any gaming site or subreddit over the festive period, you probably spotted a hardware leak or thousand. Nintendo was victim to an absolute ton of these over the past few weeks.
Heck, certain third party hardware manufacturers brought fake versions of the Switch 2 to CES with them. It’s been a wild couple of weeks.
Still, we’re yet to see a reveal officially from Nintendo itself. Until then, we have to take everything with a pinch of salt.
