According to a leak, EA is rereleasing The Sims 1 and 2 for PC on January 31. The leak features what appears to be official promotional renders, so it definitely seems legit.
Alongside these rereleases, EA is going to launch a 25th Anniversary Bundle that will, presumably, provide you with a discount for purchasing both at once.
What to Expect From The Sims 1 and 2 Rerelease
The Sims 1 and 2 rerelease is exclusive to PC, and basically provides you with a way to play these games on modern PCs that run Windows 10 or 11.
The rerelease also supports the following expansion packs, which, presumably, are bundled into the purchase:
- Livin’ Large
- House Party
- Hot Date
- Vacation
- Unleashed
- Superstar
- Makin’ Magic
The Sims 2 will also get a bunch of expansion packs, including:
- University
- Nightlife
- Open For Business
- Pets
- Seasons
- Bon Voyage
- FreeTime
- Apartment Life
- Family Fun
- Glamour Life
- Happy Holiday / Festive Holiday
- Celebration
- H&M Fashion
- Teen Style
- Kitchen and Bath Interior Design
- IKEA Home
- Mansion and Garden
It doesn’t seem like either game are getting the remaster treatment, so expect them to look and run like the originals back in the day.
What is The Sims 1 and 2 Rerelease Release date?
According to the leak, The Sims 1 and 2 rereleases will launch on January 31, 2025 at the following times:
- 8AM PT
- 5PM CET
How Much Will They Cost?
That information wasn’t included in the leak, so we’ll likely have to wait until the day of release to confirm it.
The Sims 3 currently costs $19.99 on Steam without any of the expansion packs. It could be that the games follow that price point, with the expansion packs sold separately, or it could be a more expensive bundle.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait and see.
